Quick easy way to do macros?

I can't make out how to do this! Please help. I want to write an article and the words are complex so I want to repeat them by short cut keys. Does anyone know an easy way of doing this. Can you help?

menu > File > New > Autotext > With samples.
Test how it works, then add your text replacements instead of the sample replacements.
